Hotel Alminar is a three star hotel right in the centre of Seville - less that 100 metres from the cathedral. The bedroom and bathroom are not palatial but were ideal for our needs as a good base from which to explore a delightful city. I particularly commend the staff, Maria, Francisco and Boni who made us very welcome and provided excellent advice for places to eat, places to visit and attractions to go and see. Our visit to Seville would not have been as rich or as successful without their help.
It was very central and still quiet, with lots of nice restaurants arround and very clean.
Maybe the price
The location of the hotel is fantastic. Metres from the cathedral and restaurants and easy walking distance to many other places of interest. There's a pony-and-trap rank right by the cathedral which is a great way of seeing all the sights of the city. The staff in the hotel are lovely and very accommodating. The day we checked out, the manager was having a bit of a nightmare with all of the incoming clients arriving early before the existing guests had checked out, but he still kept his sense of humour.
There is no vehicular access to the hotel - we got terribly confused when our satnav was telling us to turn up tiny pedestrianised roads! Our fault for not reading the details properly. Once you know this, though, you can park up outside the EME Catedral hotel to drop your bags off at the Alminar - this is only a couple of minutes' walk. You then park up in one of the city's larger car parks, which are fantastic value at €17.50 for a full day (compare this to parking in Las Ramblas in Barcelona where it can cost €80+ per day!).
the close proximity to cultural and historical sites and attractions.
the staff, the vaue for the money, the lack of respect for guests, the inability to accomodate guest requests.
Great location for visiting main tourist sites. Large comfortable room. Free wifi
Water temperature in shower highly variable
The staff were amazing. I had read about the hotel on Trip Advisor and previous guests had mentioned the staff and location as the key selling points. We definitely werent dispointed.. Nothing was a trouble and they were happy to assist with any queries or give recommendations.
Probably only their website..
Handy location close to the catherdral. Small hotel, air condition in bedrooms which you needed as it was very hot. Manager at hotel very welcoming and informative. Recommended good restaurant/tapas places away from tourist area. Free coffee/tea available.
Basic breakfast costing 6euros. All other hotels we stayed at in Rhonda and Granada breakfast was included in price of a room which was roughly the same price we paid in Seville.
Location, quality of the room and the service the staff give (information).
The Staff was excellent. My room was very modern, comfortable and always very clean! The location could not have been beat!! I had such a great time that would book with them again!
Very helpfull staff.Great location.I had a single room which was very clean with a very good en suite. I would stay there again.
My single room was a little small and the TV could have been larger.
Next to the cathedral, lots of bars and restaurants in the street, everything within walking distance. The room was relatively large, the bathroom was very nice.
An excellent small hotel close to the city centre. Very comfortable with excellent and friendly staff. Would definately stay there again.
the hotel staff were excellent and accommodating. There knowledge of all things Seville and surrounding environs, made for a great stay. The 24 hour coffe and tea set up is great, A library of recent travel books and of course Maria, at the front desk.
the rooms were a little small. Some updating is in order
hotel alminar is friendly comfortable hotel with helpful pleasant staff....the free coffee/tea was welcome....the location is excellent and one could go all over, if one wanted by foot....there were good cafes all around and the atmosphere was wond4erful...i was happy to be at the alminar
The two staff on reception were so helpful. Offered me a laptop to use for emailing, gave directions and general tourist information and organised for me to go and see a Flamenco.
It was easy to find the hotel, but because it was in an area where there´s limited vehicle access I did have to park and take my luggage about 10 minutes walk to get there.
